Standing on The Truth

When I was younger, I never imagined how relevant these words would become in my lifetime—or how important they would be for yours.

We live in a world now, where the boundaries between right and wrong seem increasingly blurred – and sometimes intentionally distorted.

Support of Questionable Characters

Hundreds of people are gathering right now in support of a woman named Lindsay Clancy, a woman who killed her three young children then jumped from the roof of her home. Her supporters say they are standing with a woman they believe was suffering from severe mental illness. They cheer as this woman appears in court, despite the horrific deaths of her three children.  This leaves me wondering why.   Is this show of support merited?

Compassion for mental illness and accountability for horrific actions are not opposing factors. Mental illness is real, but when accountability for the deaths of three innocent children, or any innocent life, is replaced entirely by a platform for mental illness, something truly perverse has occurred on a societal level.

Words of Insanity

Additionally, In April 2026, President Donald Trump publicly warned that, if Iran did not meet his demands, “a whole civilization will die tonight.”  Imagine hearing such words from the leader of one of the most powerful nations on earth. Whatever political arguments surround the conflict, we should never become so accustomed to the language of destruction that the value of human life becomes so immaterial and inconsequential. 

No human ruler, political party, crowd, movement, or ideology gets to become the ultimate authority over good and evil.  This is God’s realm alone!   Imagine what happens when a human being begins to speak as though the fate of an entire nation rests in his own hands. 

What human being possesses that authority? This is where the human mind can go when it is no longer bound to the Author of truth, when it is no longer held firmly to the Word of God. This is where sin leads, not only a person but the whole world.

Danger Ahead

All sin has consequences, and those consequences can have such far reaching effects.

This is what Isaiah was warning about—not merely that evil would exist, but that people would rename it. Darkness would be called light. Bitter would be called sweet. Evil would be dressed up in respectable words, with intent and meaning no longer recognizable as good.  It is a distortion, a distortion of the line between good and evil.  Its purpose is to steer humanity away from the pathway of light.  The forces of darkness are real and powerful in this world.

My darling, that is why you must learn to recognize truth for yourself.

How to Avoid this Danger

This is why you MUST daily read the Bible, so that it will keep your mind, soul and spirit tied to the Author of all truth, Jesus.  Keep your soul and spirit tied to God’s voice through daily prayer so that by practice and experience you will recognize when he speaks, telling you things like, “This is wrong!  What they’re saying is not right!   This is sin you’re seeing!”  When “truth” is found outside of the Author of truth, it can be bent, manipulated and twisted to reveal such distortions of reality, easily able to fool the masses.

Do not let the crowd become your conscience.

Do not assume something is right simply because thousands of people applaud it.

And do not assume something is wrong simply because it is being held as a subject of ridicule. Popularity has never been a great source of the measure of truth. 

Measure everything against the truth of God’s Word.

Your anchor must be Christ.

Read Scripture when the world is confusing. Pray when you are frightened. Ask God for wisdom before you act or react.

Learn to distinguish compassion from approval, mercy from moral confusion, feeling good about yourself from moral imperative, and justice from vengeance. 

Going Forward

Remember that in these times, truth will be hidden, one must learn to seek it out, knowing many will not care to make the effort.  For them, what is commonly reported will be good enough to satisfy their standard of morality. They will follow what feels right to them, trusting in their own hearts as their guide.

There will be times when standing for truth will make you unpopular. There will be times when you feel very alone on this planet.  This will happen, even Scripture tells us it’s here. 

KNOW…..Sticking to the truth, voicing the truth and standing on the truth is the ONLY Way forward on the path of God. That way is the only way that leads to life. 

You are not alone in this. 

It is the opportunity every Christian faces to defend the cause of Christ. Very few take the chance, but many have. Many have died for it too. But our treasures are not stored here.

Stay strong in the Lord, my dear one. Stay strong in the Lord.

 Take up the cause of Christ.

Hold firm.  Do not Falter.  Do not break.  No matter the cost! 

For the Victory is Ours in the End.
